And thank you to those who indulged me and asked me some good questions. The best part of being here is getting to meet all you fine folks.
Lewis of Dogblog asked:
If u had a fursona, what animal would it be?
I think I'd be something cute and fluffy, like a bunny or kitty cat or some kind of weird dog like a borzoi. Why can I all of a sudden not remember any animals that exist? I also identify a bit with horses or even some sort of flamboyant shiny beautiful fish. I tend to like to keep my options open I don't know that I'd ever be able to pick just one. Thank you for asking!!

What's your favorite episode of SpongeBob?
This question is so difficult to answer but I'll do my best. I think the set of episodes No Weenies Allowed/Squilliam Returns is reeeally up there. I actually have a lower-back tattoo of an upside-down heart that says WOW, to match with ol Reg, the bouncer at the Salty Spittoon. So many good moments in No Weenies. WEENIE HUT GENERAL?? Squilliam returns is full of banger moments: OH NO HES HOT, WE THREW OUT HIS NAMMEEEE.
Another all-timer for me is Dying for Pie. Ye had to kill him. The boy cries ye a sweater o tears. And ye kill him.
There's also the Fry Cook Games. I can't tell you how often I say "A little shaky on the entry.. but just look at that form!!!!" or "Toasted almonds? Curse him, that's good." and nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about. I love every episode of seasons 1-3 spongebob sooo much, and it's possible I come back to this entry and add more episodes that I love.
Some more quotes from the series that are always rattling around in my head:
I don't want to be a burden.
THEY HAVE IT! Canned bread!!!
How many times do we have to teach you this LESSON OLD MANNN????/ I love the young people!
Squidward that wasn't the peace treaty that was a copy of the peace treaty.
It took us three days to make that potato salad. THREE DAYYYYSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Sarah of inkcaps asked:
♡ What are your favorite movies?
I'm in a period of my life where this is hard to answer for some reason. Of course The Wizard of Oz will always be my first and greatest film love.
As for some others, The Devils (1982), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), The Descent (2005), Eyes Wide Shut (1999), and Videodrome (1983) are coming to mind. There are too many fantastic movies out there and when they're not right in front of my face I cannot remember that they exist. That's why I log every single movie I watch. It helps me remember what I've seen and orients me in time.
What fictional stories have stuck around with you, ones that have impacted your world view, if any? ♡♡
The Hair Carpet Weavers by Andreas Eschbach is a fantastic book that I could not put down once I picked it up and after it was finished I couldn't stop thinking about it. It's about a distant (in time and space) universe in which there are hundreds if not thousands if not hundreds of thousands of planets populated with the sole purpose of weaving impossibly intricate carpets from the hair of daughters and wives. I think it impacted my worldview by articulating it through the most captivating storytelling. It's a spec-fic novel structured as a series of interwoven stories exploring different characters and locales and perspectives. I can't lie, it's bleak, but it explores concepts like the futility and absurdity of work, tradition, of power and of purpose. Personally, I was able to apply these concepts and dynamics to capitalism, patriarchy, and most importantly for me, Christian faith and hegemony, though I don't believe the book was trying to comment on any of those things specifically. It's much more transcendant than that. I would be honored if I could get even just one other person to read this book. It's a short one, but god it is so good.
americasdecline asked:
What concerts did you attend this year and which was your favorite?
Not exactly a concert but I attended a set by LSDXOXO at a local club in town and had the time of my life. We made eye contact while I was dancing and I felt a connection. Highly recommend if they ever come to your town. Besides Tinashe in October (who, no surprises, ate downnn), I'm not sure if I'm forgetting anything? I did see a few random shows here and there (I live in the Live Music Capital of the World, they say) but nothing in particular is springing to mind. This wasn't a big concert year for me I guess. I did attend a show put on by a friend for their birthday where they performed and had a bunch of their musician friends (including my partner lol) do sets as well and I was blown away by the talent that was there. It is such a blessing to be in community with such talented folks. Thank you for the question! You've inspired me to attend more concerts in 2025 and remember them.
What is your song of the year?
Easily easily easily Eternal Sunshine by Ariana Grande. It was my #1 on Spotify wrapped which was no surprise to me. I love love love love the whole album but she outdid herself in particular with this song. I can never get enough. God I love Ariana Grande.
